August Happiness Projectย

Wow. I have NOT been doing a good job with writing blog posts. I have a really good excuse though. My kid is AWESOME! That’s why!!

Sorry.. not sorry! ๐Ÿ˜†

Baby girl has 4 teeth now and is trying SO SO hard to crawl. But she does a really good job of just rolling wherever she wants to go. She is almost 8 months old. I CANNOT believe how fast she is growing. My hubby and I fall more and more in love with her every single day!

Her personality is awesome and all she wants to do is smile and wave! My girl reminds me that smiling and being happy is SO much better than worrying and being sad.

My hubby also turned 30 this month!!! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He truly is my best friend.

I tried so hard to make sure his 30th birthday was a good one!! Cooked a yummy meal and got him some of his favorite things! He LOVES Savannah Bee Company’s honey!! (If you have never heard of them- look them up now!!!) Their honey is AMAZING!!!!!!!!  Our fav is the Sourwood honey!! YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!!!

My Happiness Project for August was LOVE.

I feel like I have tried very hard every single day to show everyone how much I love them. (It’s kind of funny how when God gives you a second chance at life you change the way you think about things.)

Life is truly amazing and I plan on enjoying every single second that I have. Spending time with the people I love sounds like a good way to enjoy it!!

Also- FALL is almost here!!!!! Yay all things PUMPKIN ๐ŸŽƒ!!!!!!!!!

All of my Happiness Projects in one post?!!?

I’m a girly girl. I like high heels ๐Ÿ‘ and skirts that flair out when I twirl๐Ÿ‘—! I also love buying new makeup ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ’„and trying it on ASAP!

One of my friends found a pin on making your own makeup!!! UM- saving money and new makeup?! Done and done!!!

All I needed was cornstarch and cocoa powder! You just mix until you get close to your skin tone. THAT’S IT!!! I love this so much!!! It smells good and my skin feels so soft after I put it on. โค๏ธ

I also love the fact that I can reuse those baby food jars!!! ๐Ÿ˜

ANNNNNND…. I have started the 21 Day Fix over again. Sweating for the wedding! (I’m a bridesmaid in September). I would hate to not be able to fit into my dress. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Also- Happy Christmas in July Eve!!!! I watch Christmas movies all year long but I get an excuse to make Christmas cookies too!! ๐ŸŽ„

Toys toys and more toysย

You know what my new idea of fun is?? Watching my daughter play with all her toys. Seeing the wonder in her eyes and seeing her learning is probably one of THE coolest things I have ever witnessed.

It really makes you look at life differently. I mean… I could watch her do anything and I would think it was fun. I’m kind of that mom that just stares at her in amazement… even when she is sleeping.

I’ll probably end up like Beverly from “The Goldbergs” but I really don’t care!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yesterday I went and dumped ALL of baby girl’s toys on the living room floor and we played and played and played. Although I have to say… she has more fun with the tags and labels than the actual toys. HAHAHAHA. I’m really thinking of just getting her a cardboard box for Christmas. ๐ŸŽ

As I am writing this, my little princess is in her crib sleeping. I can’t wait for her to wake up and see that beautiful smile!!!! She makes me so happy!!!!!

This weekend I am going out of town and hubby gets to have baby girl all to himself. I’m happy that he gets to enjoy her but I am so jealous at the same time. I’m gonna miss that little face sooo much!!!!

I know it’s healthy to have time to yourself and to relax but it’s going to be SO hard to turn off Mommy mode!! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Fun- My July Happiness Project

It’s funny that I have a month for “fun” in my Happiness journey. I already love to have fun but this month’s project isn’t for me. It’s for my family and friends. I want to focus on them this month!

The summer is always a busy time. SO MANY VACATIONS and family events!! I LOVE EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT!!ย I love seeing the joy on every family member’s face when we get together. Family is very very important to me. I don’t care if I see you every single day. I still love it!

We just got back from a family reunion. We had a blast!! I met new family and got to catch up with ones I already knew!! The best part about this trip was seeing baby girl with all these new people. She did great! ๐Ÿ™‚ ( And it was her first time flying! SHE LOVED IT!!!!)

This is the definition of FUN for me! Everyone’s happiness was contagious!!

I had someย reallyย amazing conversations with some family member’s who have gone through tough times and come out better people because of it. I was so encouraged to hear their stories. Yes- all of our stories are different but we were able to connect on another level. I know I can go to these people in times of stress AND happiness and they will be there for me.

I am having SUCH a hard time coming up with the words to describe just how brave and amazing these people are and how blessed I am to have them in my life!

It really is truly amazing how going through a traumatic experience changes you. I see life in different colors now. I count each moment as a blessing and am so thankful that I get to see my daughter learn about this awesome world around her!

FUN has a whole new meaning to me!

Things I’ve learned this month

Saving money is hard. Especially if both you and your partner aren’t on board. Spending money becomes a habit… a bad one. It’s very hard to break habits. ๐Ÿ˜ณ BUT- once you break that habit it is amazing how easy it is to think before you spend!

Seriously. I am amazed at how easy it is to say no I don’t need that or no I can eat something at home.

It’s hard when you have a big family though and they love to get together at restaurants. LOL. BUT   there is always a cheap option! Hahaha

I LOVE SAVING MONEY. That is nothing new. Thank you Dad for taking time to explain the important things in life.

I only like spending money on other people and experiences. Vacations and family outings are very important to me. Memories are SO valuable!!

I have to say though- my favorite thing in the whole wide world is hanging out with my hubby and my baby girl. I don’t care where I am… as long as I am with them! Sitting on the couch or at the beach. I’m happy to be with them… wherever!!! ๐Ÿ˜

                                        Xoxo, Happiest Mommy

I’m a cheap date. ๐Ÿ˜‹

I love free or inexpensive date nights!! You have so much fun together AND save money!! How would you not love that?!??

One of our local Mexican restaurants has a really good deal on Wednesdays!! We try to go every week!! Yay!! Getting out of the house and enjoying ourselves!!

I also can’t wait to try some of these:

I have my room back! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I’m proud of myself. This past weekend was a big one for baby girl. She started sleeping in her crib in her OWN room!!! I’m a happy mommy but at the same time I’m a sad mommy. ๐Ÿ˜‚

She did so well!! (Except for last night when she decided to party all night long in her crib)

I gotta say. It was SO beyond weird being able to watch tv at a normal volume in our room. We could walk in there and put things away without having to tip toe! Oh AND I’m now able to use my nightstand lamp to read in my bed again!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!

Of course the first night she slept the whole night!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ but mommy didn’t sleep at all. I woke up to every single noise thinking it was her and she was stuck or something crazy like that. I hate how my brain works sometimes.

Baby girl will be 6 months old this week and all I can say is time slow down!!! BUT I am enjoying every single second with this princess!! My big girl is growing so fast!!
